Camp Buering, Kuwait

Performance Date:  March 16, 2008

I just wanted to write and say thank you for your performance last night at Camp Buering.  It wasn’t just coming and performing, but it was the way you did it.  You could have easily just come to sing the songs, and we would have expected nothing more of you, but your willingness to interact with the crowd by dancing in the middle of the crowd, inviting people on stage, having soldiers sing, and your eagerness to meet everyone that wished after the show exceeded the limitation that is set by your counterparts.  It is performances and shows like the one you gave tonight that boost morale.

On a personal note, I would like to mention that my soldiers who attended the concert talked about it for the rest of the night and again in the morning since many of the guys were sleeping when we got back to the barracks.  They were bragging to others about getting on stage and putting their arms around the lead singer, Ms. Bostic, while attempting to sing “Friends in Low Places”.   All my guys including myself had great time.  I just want to thank you again and let you know how much all the soldiers appreciate you for what you do.  We realize you could be making more money and furthering your careers but you took the time out to entertain us and we thank you for that.

Sincerely,

SSG Adam Schafer

Joe, thank you for the great concert you did for the soldiers and personnel on the FOB.  It's hard to get entertainers up here with flights and weather... so it's a great treat when a band who puts on a performance like the one you all did makes it here.  Jeremy Holmes and Wil Valladares had a fantastic time spending the time with you as well. So on behalf of our Mayors Cell ops section, thanks again.

Truely a motivational show. Started out with the Star Spangle Banner on the electric guitar..  and just kept getting better.  The diversity of songs made all my worries slip into the back of my mind for those 2 hrs.  Another soldier friend was there with me and he was impressed as well.  The women of your group are beautiful..  and as for the men, I didn't find you attractive (haha) but the tunes were soul defying. Every single one of you gentlemen played their musical instrument like an extension of their soul.

Once again, to the entire band, thank you for coming over here and performing such an outstanding show.  They say that word of mouth is the best kind of advertisement... in your case it's got to be truly awesome. I am sorry to say I was not able to stick around after the show long enough to meet each one of you personally. Maybe one day we will cross path's again.  Until then, keep the notes dancing and the crowds smiling.

Upon returning from our tour in Iraq and Kuwait, we received many wonderful emails from the troops.  It would be impossible to include “every” email, but here are a few.
